Navratri Day 2 Today - Muhurat & Puja Vidhi!

The second day of Navratri is on September 26, 2014. This day is dedicated to Goddess Brahmacharini, who is an epitome of courage, peace, and knowledge. Obtain her enormous grace and strength by worshiping her to overcome all unexpected torments on this Navratri.

The second day of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Brahmacharini.

Devi Brahmacharini is the second incarnation of Maa Parvati. She blesses her devotees with the energy which helps them to survive and gain control over situations like sorrows, unfavorable incidents and sufferings. The blessings and glory of mother Goddess help her devotees to remain calm and follow the right path of life.

Her name, Brahmacharini, signifies ‘Brahma’ which means hard penance. She is known as the Goddess who performs hard penance (Tapa). Goddess Brahmacharini is the epitome of love, loyalty, knowledge, and wisdom. She performed hard penance to impress Lord Shiva. If we talk about her appearance, the Goddess is dressed in a white colored saree with a bright orange border. The beads of Rudraksha are her ornaments. She has two hands, out of which, she carries a Kamandal (water utensil) in her left hand and rosary in right hand. Maa Brahmacharini bestows her devotees with true happiness by blessing them with a boon of achieving victory in every phase of life.

Rituals Of The Day


To make Goddess Brahmacharini happy, one should follow all the rituals associated with this day. The rituals to be followed on this day are mentioned below:
  • Take bath early in the morning and wear clean clothes
  • Bathe idol of Devi Brahmacharini with curd, milk and honey
  • Offer them Paan (betel leaves) Supari (betel nut)
  • Put a garland of red flowers on the idol
