Why Ashtakavarga Is Important?

Ashtakavarga is a Sanskrit term, which means eight divisions. Being a Vedic Astrology prediction system, Ashtakavarga has got immense credibility by the new age astrologers. Even Hindu sages explain about the glory of this amazing system. Go through this article to know why Ashtakavarga Astrology System rules the hearts of astrologers...

Our great sages like Maharishi Parashar, Maharishi Bhrigu and Maharishi Vishwamitra have presented the science of Astrology in its simplest form for the benefit of mankind. With advancement of time, the living age of man and the ability to comprehend and understand different phenomenons have depleted. Our great sages realized this fact long before.

When Maharishi Parashar presented the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, he knew that the principles of Astrology would not be understood in their true essence by a common man. In light of this fact, Maharishi Parashar propounded the Ashtakavarga astrology system or the eight folded strength of the planets for making predictions, or the Bindu based system of calculation. In the modern times, the works by Varahamihira on Ashtakvarga presents an excellent scope for improving the art of making predictions.

Ashtakavarga system entails the seven planets; that is - Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn and the Ascendant (Lagna). Rahu and Ketu do not find a place in Ashtakavarga. Interestingly, Ashtakavarga system calculates the inherent strength of the planets to deliver results during their transit period.

This is perhaps one of the best systems to predict the results of the planets that even defy the predictions delivered by other systems of Astrology.

Ashtakvarga follows a complete mathematical calculation model for making predictions. Numbers carry equal weightage for all. The weightage of number 1, 2, 3, etc. is common for all. This aspect removes any kind of biasedness in making predictions. Anyone and everyone are at a common platform in Ashtakavarga calculations. Not to forget that the level and kind of results vary according to the Desh (place), Kaal (time) and Patra (worthiness).

The suggested remedies for mitigating the malefic influence of the planets have a very close relationship with Ashtakavarga. A planet perceived to be a great malefic in a particular horoscope may actually be very weak as per Ashtakvarga calculations and vice-versa. In such a case, the negative results delivered by such a planet may not be very negative and little performance of remedies may actually benefit the native.

Truly speaking, an Astrologer should not bypass the Ashtakavarga calculations while making predictions and use it wisely to validate them. Ashtakavarga presents a great scope for research for the modern day Astrologers to reach a new level of making predictions.
