it is a colorful month with ‘Holi’ and also a month for new beginnings with ‘Ugadi’.

Festival of Colors!
Holashtak: Holashtak begins 8 days prior to Holi and gives a feeling that Holi is
on its way. As per the Hindu beliefs, some auspicious activities are not done during
the Holashtak days. Preparations of Holika Dahan and Holi starts on Holashtak.
Holika Dahan
Holika Dahan is celebrated on the evening prior to Holi. Keeping the legend of Prahlad and Holika in mind, huge bonfire is arranged. Images and idols of Holika are burnt and traditional songs are sung.
In 2014, Holika Dahan is on March 16.
Holi
Ugadi
In 2014, Ugadi is on March 31. Celebrate the Hindu New year!
Navratri
Chaitra Navratri (also known as Vasant Navratri) is beginning on March 31, 2014. Again the supreme Goddess is arriving, let’s plan something in her welcome. Read our articles on Navratri and stay tuned for latest articles.
