How did Goddess Parvati sway Lord Shiva? Hariyali Teej also known as Shravani Teej or Sawan Teej commences on the third day of the Shukla Paksha of the Shravan month ( month of July or August ) according to Hindu calendar.
The festival is celebrated in the name of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. The sacred writings depicts that this day is celebrated on the eve of reconciliation of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Puja vidhi for Hariyali Teej
- The first thing to do is tidying and decorating the house.
- The second thing is that they have to place the idols of the God and Goddess along with others on an puja altar, decorate them and keep ready for performing the pooja vidhi.
- They have to perform a ritual called Shodha Upchar for the deities.
- The vrat is carried out for the whole night staying awake and doing bhajans, chanting, etc.

The rituals usually followed on Hariyali Teej are as follows:
- Married women receive Sinjhara from their in-laws. Sinjhara is basically a package of cosmetic and other beauty products. Women apply this products before stepping forward for Shiv Parvati Puja.
- Married women apply mehndi on their hands and play swings with friends.
- The Puja ritual usually takes place in night, hence women celebrate this with Jagaran and Kirtan.

Hariyali Teej plays a very significant practice in a woman's life. They follow every ritual and pray to the gods for their wellbeing and strong relationship with their beloved.
