Planets in Astrology

Planets in Astrology
Let’s start with understanding the basic significance of planets in Astrology. Planets when considered in Astrological background, has a whole different meaning from what we have learnt from our textbooks in school. Here, planets are regarded as living beings with individual characters and emotions. The effects of a particular planet on a particular zodiac sign, its benefits and its ill effects, all this can be understood here - Planets

There are a total of nine planets in Astrology, including two shadow planets or nodes. They are Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu. One can arrive at almost precise predictions for a person by knowing the position of the planets in the birth chart based on the time, year and place of birth. The position of a particular planet in a particular house will help in explaining your behaviour, current state, strengths and weaknesses. Each house in the birth chart depicts different stages of your life.

The planets are divided into day stars and night stars. Day stars are Saturn, Jupiter and Sun, while night stars are Moon, Mars and Venus. Planet Mercury belongs to both the category.

The planets are further divided into masculine and feminine. While Sun, Jupiter and Mars are masculine, Venus and Moon are feminine. Here also planet Mercury belongs to both the classes.

The planets are further divided into benefic and malefic. While Jupiter and Venus are benefic, Saturn and Mars are malefic. However, planets Sun, Moon and Mercury have both the characteristics. They vary with their journey through houses in your birth chart.

Generally, planets give positive results when in this order. i.e, exalted sign (uccha-rashi), own sign (swa-rashi) and friendly sign (mitra-rashi). Exalted sign for best results, own sign for good results and friendly sign for moderate results. However, there will be no good results if the planets are positioned in either of these signs, they being, debilitated sign (neecha rashi) or enemy’s sign (shatru rashi).

Indian Badminton League
By Acharya Raman

Like IPL, We are now witnessing IBL – India Badminton League. It is indeed good for the players and all are wishing that it gathers TRP to continue, online and offline. It is a good initiative and such things should also start for hockey and football. Hockey is our national game and is cornered due to the popularity of cricket. There were in fact, no sincere efforts ever made to make hockey popular. There will be several matches in this tournament and I am again trying to offer the results of the matches of this newborn IBL.

Every match will be a best of three games, with the third game a race to 11 points. In the first two games, the two-point gap rule has been dropped, so the first player to reach 21 points wins. There’ll be a minute’s break after the seventh and 14th points in the first two games and after the sixth point in third and final game.

Sankashti Chaturthi also known as Sankatahara Chaturthi means "Relief from all troubles". This ritual is performed monthly . Depending on the day it occurs, it is either observed as Sankashti Chaturthi or Angarika Chaturthi.

Madras Café: An Astro-Numerological Analysis

Madras Café movie

This weekend, step into the cozy ambience of Madras Café. Expect the unexpected as you are in for a thrilling adventure with Madras Café. Starring John Abraham and Nargis Fakhri, Madras Cafe is a political thriller directed by niche director Shoojit Sircar. Riding on the success of Vicky Donor, Shoojit has taken up a new genre yet again. It is yet to be seen if he will replicate his success. His movies are refreshing, bold and entertaining at the same time. Let us see if Astrology and Numerology will favor him this time.

All set to be released on 23rd August, Madras Café has already created quite a flutter due to its touchy subject. The movie uses the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as its backdrop. Interestingly, the plan to kill him was hatched at Madras Cafe. And though we all know what happened on the fateful day of the Prime Minister’s assassination, yet it would be very interesting and informative to go through the events all over again. Let us see if Shoojit Sircar manages to weave such a critical event and decisive junction of the recent history into a story worth watching.

John Abraham plays an intelligence officer of RAW, while Nargis Fakhri is playing a war correspondent. Set in the early 1990s, the film deals with bloody history of Sri Lankan Civil war.

One of the main reasons why the film is so sort after already is due to its controversial subject line. We do get to see oodles of love, action and comedy on screen; however subjects of this nature are seldom touched. Also it will be very interesting to watch John and Nargis together for the first time.

India is a politically sensitive country with a large population, so nothing can go unnoticed here. This explains all the hype that the movie has managed to capture. The promos also look promising and we can expect entertainment of a different flavor after quite a long time. For many it will be an introduction to the recent political history surrounding India and its neighbor.

The film is set to release on 23rd August 2013. Let’s see what Muhurat Shastra predicts about the commercial outcome of the film.

-Tithi (lunar date) on 23rd August 2013 is Krishna-Trithiya. Tritiya is considered as Jaya tithi i.e. victorious day.

-Moon will be passing through Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatra on that day. It is recommended to start any work which is aimed to last long. The film will be remembered for a much longer period of time.

-Yoga on that day will be Dhrithi, which is known to be very auspicious.

-Karana Vanija is considered to be good to start commercial activity.

Numerologically the name Madras cafe totals to 32. This is a fortunate number. It indicates success. It is considered a lucky number associated with combinations of people and nations. A suggestion from Numerology says that the producer of the movie should trust his judgment and do not let others influence him.

The film seems to go well with the viewers and critics alike, provided the first show doesn’t start during Rahukalam i.e. 10.30 am to 12 noon.

We hope that the makers of Madras Café have kept all the Astrological and Numerological aspects in mind to ensure that the film becomes a big time hit. Also, the brave attempt of the director deserves appreciation and applause.

After analyzing various Numerological and Astrological aspects of the movie, we can say that it is going to be a successful film. People will line up to visit Madras Café and enjoy it too. Well, we hope to see action, thrill and of course John Abraham on big screen this weekend. Have a happy weekend at Madras Café!

Kajari Teej: The Festival Of Swings

Kajari Teej is celebrated on the 23rd of August 2013. It is a much awaited festival for the women folk, as they are the stars of this festival. Kajari Teej is celebrated on the 3rd day of Krishna Paksha. While Kajari Teej is celebrated in the month of Bhadrapada according to North Indian Calendar, down South, which follows the Amavasyant calendar, this festival is celebrated in the month of Shravan. Kajari Teej or Badi Teej is also called the festival of swings.

Now, Let's see in detail how this festival is celebrated across India.

Kajari Teej is celebrated as a welcome for the monsoon season after enduring the scorching heat of summer. This is a major event in Rajasthan, MP, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Kajari Teej is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, hence special pujas and rituals are performed on this day.

Kajari Teej in Bundi Rajasthan

The procession of the idol of Goddess Parvati in the city of Bundi, Rajasthan is the main event of Kajari Teej. This festival attracts thousands and thousands of tourist every year. As the Procession moves around the city, devotees throng the streets to get a glimpse of the idol. The event is celebrated in a grand scale with elephants and camels and what not brought in, specially for the festival. Goddess Parvati is decorated with new clothes, diamond, gold, rare gemstones and looks enchanting to the eyes. The day continues with performances like Rajasthani folk dance, rope walk, folk music and much more.

A day for women folk

Women love this festival as I said earlier, they get to be stars for the day. Women dress up in the most finest attire, and are treated to gifts and treats by their relatives. Some women observe fast for the well being of their husband. This is a very difficult task which involves fasting the whole day without consuming even water. Married women visit their parents home and get gifts and treats. Later the women gather around and make for a fun evening where dance, music and playing in the swing takes center stage. Overall, Kajari teej is a festival for fun, treats and worship.
