For the women of Punjab, Karwa Chauth is not just an ordinary day but a grand day with grand celebration. Several days before the actual day of Karwa Chauth, markets get flooded with decorative items and accessories like beautiful saris, heavily embroidered suits, bangles, several eatables and sweets. Women get up early in the morning, dress traditionally and eat ‘Sargi’ which is given to them by their mother-in-laws. Later in the day, they gather with the women of neighborhood to perform the evening puja. According to the customs of Punjab, women observing fast can take tea after the evening puja but the fast is broken only after offering prayers to the Moon at night. ‘Baya’ is also a Punjabi custom performed on this day in which; clothes, jewellery or any other gift is given to the mother-in-law of the girls parents.

There, the women make Karwas with mud and fill it with rice, wheat, cloves, cardamom and a silver coin. According to the rituals, before offering water to the Moon, the married woman is asked “Dhai?” to which she responds, “Suhaag na Dhai”. An elder woman of the family narrates the Karwa Chauth story and its significance to all the married women. women here take the first sip of water from their mother-in-law’s hand.

In Uttar Pradesh, married women decorate the walls of their home with paintings and drawings of Maa Gauri, the Sun and the Moon. They make karwa with mud and perform puja in evening with earthen lamps. The women of Uttar Pradesh first pray to the figurines (puppet or figure) at their doorstep and then the Moon. Gaur Mata is also worshipped by creating her idol with soil, water and kumkum. Story of Veer Vati is narrated by a priest or elder woman and following song is sung:

Sadaa suhagan karve lo, Pati ki pyari karve lo,
Saat bhaiyon ke behen karve lo, Vart karni karve lo,
Saas ki pyaari karve lo

Women of Uttar Pradesh don’t take even a sip of water the whole day and take anything only after worshipping the moon at night.

When The Fast Begins and Ends

Karva Chauth begins before sunrise and ends after worshipping moon at night. Intake of food or water is prohibited after sunrise. The fast is broken after witnessing the moon and performing the rituals of this auspicious day including offering of water to the moon.

Evening Puja

.

In the evening, women dress traditionally in red or pink sari or lehenga-choli. New brides mostly wear their bridal costume. They adorn themselves with jewelry, bridal makeup and mehendi (henna) on their hands. They highlight their forehead with decorative bindi. Women from all over the neighborhood gather to perform the ‘thali exchange’ ritual while singing the Karwa Chauth song. An elderly woman narrates a Karwa Chauth story and its significance to all the women.

Traditional 'Sargi'

Newly-weds, married women and brides-to-be get gifts and pots of baskets from their mother-in-laws who fill the earthen pots with Sargi (customary food which consists of fruits, nuts, fried potatoes and sweets) which is consumed by the women before sunrise.

'Baya'

The 'baya' includes money, earthen pitcher, clothes, jewelry and sweets sent by a woman's mother to her in-law's household.

Breaking The Fast

The fast comes to an end in the evening after sighting the moon in the presence of the husband. In a traditional thali, women light earthen lamps and keep a vessel filled with water. The husband stands in front of his wife and she sees the moon through a sieve (a filter). They offer water to the moon and look at their husbands through the sieve and pray for their long life. The husband then feeds his wife with some food or a sip of water, ending the fast.

Why Google and Yahoo are the top websites?

Top websites of the world
Most of the successful people believe in fate and future predicting occult sciences. However, people with partial or ordinary success also believe in such things. Everyone is not lucky enough that their every wish come true. In such situations, people in distress start saying that all these beliefs are useless. It has been said that nothing is possible before the right time and beyond luck. Rejecting ancient esoteric sciences completely will not be judicious. Though this is quite a big topic of discussion, but we are trying to bring your focus forth Numerology and its power via this article.

In this article, we are trying to tell you the reason behind the success of biggest websites of the world. Are they #1 just because of the hard work of their employees; or luck & miracle are also associated with them. I completely agree with the fact that hard work and appropriate planning are needed for success, but ignoring the involvement of fate and miracles for being #1 is not justified.

Let’s experience this miracle by taking the examples of some successful websites. Don’t know if their names were given by a Numerologist or this miracle happened by itself; but it happened for sure. Surely, the stars of the owners of these websites must be good. Let’s first talk about Google, the #1 website of the world.

Google, the no.1 website
“Google” is made from 6 alphabets of English, in which “G” has been used twice and “O” has also been used twice. However, this rule is not described in any numerology book, but as per my research this fact has come forward. I use it according to a numerologist that when in any word, any letter is used more than once; then on the basis of recurrence, the effect of the Manak Ank (Total Number) of that letter increases in that word. If any word occurs continuously then magical energy is seen in that word. Also, if the letter which occurs continuously is “vowel” then as compared to “consonant” then the results are more favorable. Let’s understand this case more clearly with the example of “Google”.

GOOGLE

G = 3
O = 7
O = 7
G = 3
L = 3
E = 5

It means Google = 3+7+7+3+3+5=28=2+8=10=1+0=1. Here, the total number of Google is 1, which we will call Mulank here. It is also not true that whose Mulank is 1 is always #1. Here, the letters responsible for the outcome are very important. The above said things can be easily seen in the word “Google”.

In the word “Google”, the letter “G” has been used twice; therefore, energy stored in the letter “G” is getting stronger. The letter “O” is not only used twice but is used continuously two times. In it, not only consonant is used twice but also vowel has occurred consecutively. In the word “Google” the no. 3 has occurred thrice (Google = 3,7,7,3,3,5). The no. 7 has occurred twice; whereas, the no. 5 has occurred only once. As everyone knows, if at anywhere something is in majority, the power of that thing gets strengthened. Same is here in this case of “Google” where combined energies of “G” and “O” have helped it in becoming #1. “G” means the no. 3 is the no. of Jupiter; therefore today Google is the treasure of knowledge. To find anything or to look for any answer, everyone takes the help of Google. It means Google has answer for everything. “O” means the no. 7, which is the no. of Ketu. Therefore, “Google is available in different languages and is based on technology.

Like Google, “Facebook” is also #1 in its own domain. Here, alphabet “O” is not only used twice but it is continuously repeated too. In “Yahoo” also, it is not occurring just two times but is repeated too. Same is the case with “Twitter”, where the alphabet “T” is not only used twice but has recurred continuously. Similarly, “Youtube” has the alphabet “U”.  Overall, conclusion is that, if in any word, any alphabet or number repeats itself then the energy of that word highly increases.  If that no. is auspicious for the native or for the owner of the institute then the person associated with that name not only gains benefits but with hard work and dedication, his dream of reaching the heights also becomes true.

Destined To be A Singer - Astrology Will Tell You How

By Mrityunjai Ojha

When something goes right or according to your plan, you get a feeling that it was destined to happen. What one become in future, a doctor, an engineer, a singer or a dancer. We can say that our stars had some extent of involvement in guiding us to that road of success. Today, we will take the life of a singer and see how the stars played their part. We will study the horoscope and about the stars related to voice, communication and talent.

Planets to create Singers

Astrological Combinations In A Singer’s Horoscope

We need to see few factors in the horoscope in D-1 (Birth Chart), D-9 (Navamsa) and D-10 charts (Dasamsa).

  1. Mercury and 2nd house for voice: Mercury should be well placed and if connected with 2nd house of Vaani (Voice), it is excellent. Mercury also rules communication. Mercury’s connection with Venus or 2nd house is a good indication.
  2. Moon for Artistic talent: We know Moon as the most prominent planet for artistic talent as we see Moon changing it’s shape on daily basis like full moon, half moon. For rhythm in voice up-low, Moon is required and connection of Moon with Trikona (1st, 5th, 9th house) blesses the native with artistic talent. Moon-Venus, Moon-Saturn, Moon- Jupiter combination are good for singing.
  3. Saturn for stability and deep interest: Saturn must be connected with 3rd, 9th or Moon/Venus, because a singer needs stability in his voice to carry his breathe for a long time and deep interest to carry on as patience is key for such kind of profession.
  4. Venus for Media: Venus is the key planet for media, so Venus should be connected with Mercury or 2nd house. Venus-Jupiter, Venus-Moon, Venus-Saturn and Venus-Mercury are good combinations.
  5. Rahu-Ketu: Rahu gives the desire, Rahu/Ketu connection with Lagna (ascendant) is necessary.
  6. Jupiter for creativity and guidance.
  7. We have to see the Nakshatra (constellation) Lords of these planets too.
  8. Dasha: Dasha (Planetary period) is the most important thing. Dasha of the planet is most prominent in the horoscope for singing out of these planets is the key.
Let’s go with some examples, I chose -

2 horoscopes of singers whom I know personally, so I can say their birth details are correct for research purpose.

Gender: Male
Birth date: 06-Sep-1986
Time: 08:15 am
Birth place: Chapra, Bihar

Now, let’s analyse the first Horoscope.
  1. Mercury is placed in Nakshatra (constellation) of Venus and Venus is placed in 2nd house of Vaani. In D-9 chart, Mercury is placed in his own sign in Virgo. In D-10 Chart, again Mercury is placed in 2nd house. (See Rule 1)
  2. Moon placed in 1st house with Ketu. Moon placed in 9th house in D-10 chart. Moon is the Lord of 11th house and placed in his own Nakshatra. (See rule 2)
  3. Saturn is placed in 3rd house of communication and Exalted in D-9 and D-10, Saturn is placed with Jupiter (Creativity) in 10th house of D-10 chart. Saturn is in his own Nakshatra (constellation) and sub of Venus. (Rule 3)
  4. Venus is the Lord of 2nd (Voice/Vaani) and 9th (Luck, Communication), and placed in 2nd house in his own sign. Venus is the Lord of 5th house and 10th house of D-10 chart and placed in 11th house. (Rule 4)

Why Are Temples Closed During Chandra Grahan?

Matsya Purana says that during the battle between Devas (Gods) and Asuras (Demons), the Asuras made an agreement with the Devas according to which they had to churn the Ocean of Milk to attain Amrit which had the magical properties of making them immortal. On the command of Lord Vishnu, the Devas agreed. While churning the Ocean of Milk many valuable things came out, which were taken by the Devas. Along with those valuable things came out halal poison also which was drunk by Lord Shiva in order to save the universe. After the churning was over, the accumulated Amrit was collected in a pot. The Asuras then asked for the share of Amrit to make themselves immortal. Seeing this, Lord Vishnu felt the danger and to prevent it he descended on Earth in the Mohini avatar. The Devas and the Asuras were mesmerized by the beauty of Mohini and they handed over the pot of Amrit. She promised to distribute it equally between the devas and asuras. However, this was exactly not her plan and whenever came the turn of an Asura she would turn the Amrit into ordinary water. Rahu sensed something fishy and turned himself into a Deva to have the Amrit. Just when Rahu was about to swallow the amrit, Sun and Moon Gods saw his play and informed Mohini about it. Mohini cut off Rahu’s head before he could swallow the Amrit. Rahu’s head by that time had tasted the Amrit and had become immortal. This is the reason why Rahu devours the Sun and Moon causing the Solar and Lunar eclipse.

For this reason, the temples are closed during grahan so as to avoid any evil to affect the purity of the deities.

Kojagiri Puja Story

To understand what exactly Kojagiri Puja is, let’s read the following story.

Once upon a time, there ruled a noble king in the state of Bengal who promised his artisans that if any of object made by them remains unsold, he would buy them. Once it happened and an idol of Goddess Alakshmi (Goddess of Poverty) made by one of his artisans remained unsold and as per the promise made, the king bought it and placed it in his temple. As a result, wealth and prosperity left the kingdom of the king as Goddess Lakshmi and Alakshmi cannot reside together. The king was surprised and went to Lord Dharma for help. Lord Dharma suggested him that his wife (queen) should perform the Kojagiri Lakshmi Vrat on the full Moon night of the Ashwin month. The queen observed the fast and performed the rituals due to which the idol of Goddess Alakshmi melted away and Goddess of prosperity, Goddess Lakshmi remained back in the kingdom.

Rituals Performed On Kojagiri Puja

People keep fast for the whole day and perform Puja at night with minimum of 108 lamps or diyas, agarbatti and flowers. Kheer is prepared as bhog to please Goddess Lakshmi and is kept under the moonlight the whole night and is taken as Prasad by all on the next day.
