Akshaya Tritiya is being observed nationwide on 7th May 2019, this year. It is believed that on this day, any auspicious task can be started without having to consult an auspicious time (muhurat). The reason behind this is that the planets Sun and Moon remain exalted on this pious date and due to their effective planetary placements and influences, this date is considered auspicious in Hindu Panchang. This year, due to a major yoga on this day itself, this propitious date becomes even more fruitful and prosperous for the natives. Apart from the Sun and the Moon, Venus and Rahu will also remain posited in their exalted signs, on Akshaya Tritiya this year. Before that, such a coincidence was witnessed 16 years ago in 2003, which further makes this yoga even more significant. It is considered especially auspicious to purchase the gold idol of Goddess Laxmi on this day and worshipping it.
