Mantra Shakti - Connecting with the Gods

Mantra… Words to bring you one step closer to God. It can be called as a bridge between the consciousness of man and God.

The word Mantra is a Sanskrit term, syllable or group of words that is a medium to bring transformation within you. Mantras originated from the Vedic tradition of India and play a very vital role in the spiritual life of Hindus. There isn’t a single auspicious event that goes by without the chanting of Mantras.

Om!.. this word in itself is a mantra. It is the beginning, it is the God Shiva himself.

Vedas tell us that the word Mantra in entirety is the Rig, Yajur and Sama Veda. Mantra is a language between you and God, it is through this that you can tell all your worries, your pains, your happiness, your desires and be sure that they will be heard by the Almighty. Leave aside all your unwanted thoughts and purify your body and soul, and sing the song for the Gods and be blessed by him.

Gayatri Mantra is the heart and core of all that is divine. It is the mother of all Vedas and the epitome of knowledge. Chanting Gayatri Mantra will remove all sins, wash away all the miseries, shower you with wisdom, lead you toward peace.

Om bhoor bhuvah svah |
Tat savitur varenyam ||
bhargo devasya dhimahi |
Dhiyo yo nah prachodayat ||

This prayer is sung by one and all to pray to Goddess Gayatri, mother to all, to seek her blessings in leading a pure sinless life.

While Gayatri Mantra talks about the beginning, let’s see the mantra of the end (Anta).

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra also called as Tryambakam Mantra, has equal importance as Gayatri Mantra. It is the Mantra to conquer death. It is the word heard Lord Shiva, God of the Gods. Legend has it that Sage Markandeya was the only human who knew this Mantra. Later on, it was passed on with the common people, anyone who wants their prayers to be heard by Lord Shiva, this is the Mantra to chant.

Om tryambakam yajamahe | sugandhim pushti vardhanam ||
Urvarukamiva bandhanan | mrtyormuksiya mamrtat ||


Mrityunjaya Mantra is chanted to ward off any bad omens, like untimely death due to accidents. This Mantra will protect your beloveds and give them a life of good health, peace, prosperity.
