What Is Lal Kitab?
Lal Kitab is a set of five books in Urdu on Astrology and Palmistry. It was written in the 19th century and published between 1939 and 1952. It is based on the Samudrika Shastra, which is a part of the Vedic tradition, is the study of ‘face reading’, ‘aura reading’ and ‘palm reading’.
Samudrika Shastra is a Sanskrit term that roughly translates to “Knowledge Of Body Features”.
Lal Kitab is a unique system of Astrology, now popularly known as the “Lal Kitab System Of Astrology“.
There are total of five books. However, the author of the original version is still unknown. Pandit Roop Chand Joshi, who is a resident of Pharwala village rewrote the currently available five books and hence recognised as the master of this field of science.
Lal Kitab mainly gained its popularity because of the fact that it provides simple and easy to understand remedies for various planetary afflictions in the horoscope.
While religious and Vedic astrology suggest remedies, which might require tedious work, like Yagna, Pujas performed by scholars, wearing expensive gemstones and travelling to far away Holy places. Lal Kitab suggests simple and easy remedies for day-to-day problems like offering bread to dogs to overcome differences between father and son.
