Goddess Kalratri has an extremely dreadful appearance with dark complexion. All the negativity gets washed away only by the view of her appearance. She has big red eyes and scattered long black hair. Goddess Kalratri has four hands, out of which, she has a sabre (Kripan) in her upper left hand and an iron thorn in her lower left hand. Her upper right hand remains in Var Mudra and lower right hand in Abhay Mudra. Maa Kalratri rides on a donkey. She removes every kind of fear and destroy evils and negative powers from the universe. Goddess Kalratri killed the wicked devil Raktabeej.
Meaning: The Goddess who is present in the heart of every human being in the form of Devi Kalratri (destroyer of demons and evils), I bow to that Mother Goddess.
The rituals to worship Goddess Kalratri are same as the other eight Goddesses of Navratri. The rituals start with worshiping the Kalash. The Kalash is worshiped with all the planets and family members of the Goddess. It is said that Goddess Kalratri removes all the effects of negative powers.
Seventh day of Navratri is also very important for Tantriks, they perform special Pujas to attain Siddhis. They worship Goddess Kalratri in the midnight with all their Tantrik rituals.
Durga Puja is the festival that honors Maa Durga and is celebrated for six days. Today is the third day of Durga Puja which is also called as Saptami. On the third day of Durga Puja, banana tree is bathed with holy water. The tree is decorated beautifully in a saree, as the consort of Lord Ganesha. The banana tree is then placed beside Lord Ganesha’s idol. In the end, all the nine planets are worshiped as the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga.

- Today, the time of sunrise is 06:13 am and sunset is at 18:07 pm.
- Moonrise is at 12:28 pm and it is setting at 11:30 pm.
- The Tithi (Hindu day) is Saptami (the seventh day) - 01:49 pm, Ashvin month, Shukla Paksha (bright half), and Mula Nakshatra (11:03 pm) is prevailing.
- Rahukaal is beginning at 12:10 pm and ending at 01:38 pm.
- Amrit Kaal is from 04:50 pm to 06:23 pm.
- Puja Muhurat: From 06:13 am to 09:12 am.
