Aja Ekadashi Rituals & Auspicious Muhurat

In the year 2019, Aja Ekadashi will be celebrated on the Dashami tithi during Krishna Paksha in Ardra Nakshatra. As per Gregorian Calendar, this day will be observed on 26 August, Monday. On this day, Lord Vishnu is venerated with devotion. It is believed that carrying out a Jagran and fasting on this day helps the devotee get rid of his/her sins and appease Lord Vishnu. Things To Keep In Mind On Aja Ekadashi


If you’re fasting on the day of Aja Ekadashi, you need to keep some things in mind, which are mentioned below:

  • You must avoid consuming Masoor pulse on the tenth day or Dashmi, as eating the Masoor daal before the fast is considered inauspicious. 
  • Along with that, avoid eating Black Gram or Chana and Karonde or Bengal Currant before the fast. 
  • Using Honey on the day of fast is considered inauspicious. 
  • Also, follow the ritual of Brahmacharya on the Dashmi and Ekadashi as well. Keeping these things in mind helps you gain desirable results.

Devotees fasting on the day of Aja Ekadashi must wake up early before sunrise, take a bath and venerate Lord Vishnu. Those who follow the rituals and fast on this occasion gets rid of sorrow and misery and attain prosperity and happiness in life.
