According to Hindu Calendar, Gupt Navratri starts from the first date (Prathama Tithi) of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashadh. In Hinduism, four kinds of Navratri are celebrated every year. Among them, Chaitra and Sharad Navratri are known to be the Gupt Navratris of Paush and Ashadh months respectively. Chaitra and Sharad Navratri are celebrated with more glee and excitement. Gupt Navratri is known to be highly fruitful regarding Tantra practices and activities. Goddess Kali is worshipped during Gupt Navratri. As the rituals carried out for tantra practices are difficult to conduct, hence, it is called as Gupt Navratri.
