Goddess Katyayani is one among the nine forms of Maa Durga. She is worshiped on the sixth day of Navratri. This beautiful form of Goddess Durga rides on a lion. She has a radiant golden appearance, four arms, and three eyes. She is a warrior and is one of the most violent forms of Durga. She came on earth to kill the wicked demon, Mahishasura.According to the ancient stories, she took birth on earth as the daughter of Rishi Katyayan, who did hard penance for getting the grace of Maa Durga. She was named after her father’s name Katyayan as Katyayini.
She is the one who removes arrogance, negative ego and rigidity. She removes all the sufferings and troubles of her devotees.
