Teacher’s Day : A Day To Thank The Real Heroes

Today, the 5th of September is observed as Teacher’s day in India. Teacher’s day is celebrated in India on 5th September, but it is not the case with everyone around the world. The dates differ with different countries. According to the UNESCO, October 5th is the World Teacher’s Day. Now, many would want to know, why we celebrate this event on 5th September instead of 5th October. It is because, in India, we celebrate Teacher’s day to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was the second President of India. He was a visionary and a role model to many.

Thank you Teacher

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” - William Butler Yeats

A Teacher is the one who holds your hand when you are a clumsy writer, sits next to you when you are stuck with your fractions and decimals, pushes you and gives you the confidence when you are ready for your first presentation and has a thousand watts smile when you are leaving him/her as a grown and wise individual who has been the fruit of all the years of hard work that he has put in.

Every stage of our life, we have a teacher, Mother is the first teacher who holds her infant in her arms and points to the father, thus teaching the first lesson; “See there, that is your father!” Then when we go to school, our teacher takes us to others and tells, “See this is friendship”; then when we move to job, the boss shows the path to grow successful and so on. Teachers are everyone and anyone who has taught you a valuable lesson, be it in books or in life. Every child needs a teacher. So, salute to these noble men and women and to their noble profession.

“The authority of those who teach is often an obstacle to those who want to learn.” - Cicero

Happy teachers day to one and all !!
