Q#1: How did you get interested in astrology initially? What made you come into the field of astrology as a profession?

Astrology is the science of intangible questions of unknown and unpredictable situations. Why is it so, what will happen tomorrow - these are the common questions everybody wants to know about. As far as I am concerned - how I got interested in astrology - we have to go back a few years. "bookworm" is the word which describes me best as it suits me well (Jupiter in fifth house, Saturn in ascendant). With the age, my subjects of interest got changed and my focus shifted to philosophy, homeopathy and astrology (Jupiter in fifth house, all these subjects are indicated by Jupiter). With the time, people got to know about my interest in astrology and they started coming to me asking for advice. When my predictions proved to be accurate and number of people approaching me for solutions started increasing, it greatly boosted my level of confidence. To continue with this work smoothly, some discipline was necessary and, therefore, I took it as my profession sincerely.

Q#2: What astrological system do you use and why?

I use Vedic Astrology, as it is the base of every other astrology system.

Q#3: Any incident related to astrology in your life or your prediction, which created impact and that you want to share with our readers?

I would like to share an astrological incident related to me. Around 30 years ago, an astrologer from Agra predicted after considering my Kundli (birth chart), “Why is she not in the astrology field? She would have made a big name for herself if she was in this field.” And it’s true that my interest grew more in astrology after it and my efforts toward mastering it increased.

Talking about any of the predictions made by me, which proved right, would be vanity. However, there is an incident that can help understand the accuracy of astrology. In 2008 while on my way to America, I met a very popular woman. She continued talking to me during the whole journey. During the conversation, she mentioned that she was very upset about her son who had left home because of his girlfriend. She gave me his birth-details and after going through his Kundli after 3-4 days, I assured her that her son would come back to her as the relation between him and his girlfriend has no future. After few days, she called me and informed that the girl had died due to some health issues. I didn’t get a chance to analyze the girl's birth-chart. That lady, after some time, got me interviewed on “Voice of America” radio-station.

Q#4: What are your suggestions for budding astrologers or for those who’re interested in this subject?

A piece of advice from my side for the people who are interested in astrology or are looking forward to pursue it as a career - astrology needs very profound study and one should take it quite seriously in order to advise people correctly as it has the power to directly affect others’ lives. And, therefore, one might charge for rendering one’s services, but one should never prescribe remedies just for the sake of making more money. Do not confuse people and spread superstitions.

Q#5: According to you, which are the best astrology books that one should read?

To build a strong foundation, the best books referred are the astrological classics such as Phaladeepika and Saravali etc. These are the must-read texts. If you develop sound understanding of underlying astrological principles, you will be able to tread the right path later.

Q#6: What would you like to say to the users of AstroSage.com?

To all the AstroSage readers, I want to say that many changes and developments are taking place, several researches are being carried out in astrology with the changing time. Even more research is required. Keep a scientific view toward astrology and then accept it; do not accept is as a superstition.

AstroSage Predicted Fall Of AAP Government On December 28, 2013

Breakdown of Arvind Kejriwal’s government is not surprising, AstroSage had already predicted this day in advance. On AstroSage, we had made this prediction on December 28, 2013. We didn’t stop there. On December 29, 2013 and January 18, 2014, we predicted the future of AAP again. 

Arvind Kejriwal, along with his entire cabinet, resigned on February 14, 2014. After 49 days of taking charge of the minority Delhi government, the MLA’s of BJP and Congress demolished his dream of bringing Jan Lokpal Bill. In this prediction, we had predicted the formation of a very strong malefic conjunction of planets, which were really harmful for Arvind Kejriwal.

“Exalted Saturn is posited with Rahu in eighth house along with Moon. Interestingly, this Yoga indicates Vishkumbha and signifies that the native is possessed by a demon. It also creates Balarishta Yoga that is considered very dangerous.”

We had already predicted that the government of AAP won’t last long.

“Everything points toward a short stint for him in the government that may not be more than 6 months. Stars indicate that the government may lose the confidence of the house in 12, 18, 19 days or in 6 months at most...”

We had also stated the party will also face stability issue.

“New Delhi is the capital of India and, therefore, political stability is pivotal for national capital. However, position of planets seems adverse to stability…

...All in all, we can say that the present Delhi government is going to enjoy only a short tenure.”

Hypnosis, also known as Hypnotism, has captured the imagination of the people since ages. Most of us don’t know exactly what hypnosis is and how it is done. Many facts prove that the origin of hypnosis therapy lies in India. Let us explore it some more. 

 

While sitting idle sometimes, few thoughts hit the mind like thunder bolts. What if there was a way to control what is within the reach and then what is beyond limits? Is it possible to control the thoughts that our mind create? It is not hard to guess that we are leading into the mystical lanes of hypnosis. The human mind is a precious gift, that has been bestowed to us. ‘The mind’; well it can make you ‘Albert Einstein’ and likewise it can turn you into trash within no time. It is a power that can be used and at the same time misused. Let us begin with understanding the mind first. We do not get hypnotized but our mind does. In simple words, hypnosis or hypnotism is a process of controlling the mind and making it do as you feel. 

The origin of hypnosis might be found with various facts. But, the usage of hypnosis as a health therapy seems to be originated in India. In ancient India, Hindus used to bring their sick ones to the temples, where the priest or a person related to this art used to take the sick person into sleep for the process of hypnosis. In ancient Greece and Egypt too, the concept was same.

History Of Hypnotism

The history of hypnotism dates back to a really long time. It is believed that it has been in practice ever since the birth of the civilizations. However, no one can tell the exact date of time period when this mystical art originated. Known by different names, history of hypnosis or hypnotism takes us to different countries like Egypt, Italy, China, and India.

In India, hypnosis or hypnotism is called the ‘Sammohan Shakti’. During the ancient times, the Gurus and the saints used to practice this art for hypnotizing self and others. It is also used for better concentration during meditation. It is believed that we all have the extraordinary power to control our own mind and that of the others. All we have to do is look inwards for all the questions. And, what makes it even more is the fact that all these powers are inborn in all the human beings and all we have to do is to understand the self.

James Braid is an important name associated with the history of hypnosis. Born in the year 1795, he was a Scottish physician and surgeon. The term hypnotism was used by James Braid as an abbreviation to the neuro-hypnotism which means nervous sleep. Taking inspiration from his work the word hypnosis or hypnotism was also derived later. In his study, he laid emphasis on both vision and thought. He believed that both vision and thought power is needed to focus the attention of a subject. He is also attributed with writing the first book on hypnosis which was published in the year 1843, which was called the ‘Neurypnology’. His book got him another piece of information in the form of a feedback; when an unknown person from Edinburgh, who had long resided in India, informed him that many eastern saints do self-hypnotism. This information brought some modification in his phenomena of the causes and nature of mesmerism as well as hypnotism. His work provided inspiration to a lot of scholars who studied this subject later. 

What is Hypnosis?

Now the question arises, what exactly hypnosis is? The word hypnosis is derived from the greek word ‘hypnos’ which means sleep. It is a psychological state when you have reduced awareness in general, to focus on the mind on a specific or dominant idea. It is heightened state attention when you do not let your mind wander. It is a stage of complete trance. Whatever we do we are governed by our conscious mind and this mind gives us the power to select and reject things by observing and examining. Once we are detached from this mind, we get more open to the suggestions and thoughts that we receive. Hypnosis does exactly that. Here, it must be understood that there is nothing supernatural or magical about hypnosis. It is entirely a logical method to control the mind.

The Concept Of Mesmerism

Franz Anton Mesmer was an Austrian doctor who discovered that he had the power to cure people with his intense inner power. He believed that all of us could develop this power which lies within all of us. He had different methods to cure a variety of ailments that were there in the masses during that period of time. In one of the methods, he used to fill up a tub with water that had iron filled bottles in it. The people held the bottles which protruded out of the tub. People reacted differently to these treatments. For example, some people went into deep sleep during the treatment while the others found themselves violently charged. He said that we all are connected to each other through an energy flow which he called ‘animal magnetism’.
