Thiruvonam Celebrations
Thiruvonam is the tenth and main day of the Onam festival. Before this day, all the 9 days are dedicated to some rituals. As today is Thiruvonam, let’s just talk about the rituals of this day and following days:

- Wake up early in the morning, clean home, get ready, wear new clothes, make flower carpets to welcome the King, and make donations to the needy ones. (New clothes should be bought by the eldest family member.)
- Perform Puja rituals in the duration when Thiruvonam or Shravan Nakshatra prevails.
- Grand feast called Onam Sadhya is prepared and it is the main highlight of the festival.
- In the evening, several traditional games and cultural events are organized.
