Hi, welcome to 2 min astrology course. In the last episode I talked about importance of exalted and debilitated planets in predictions. Other than that, friendship and enmity of planets is also very important in predictive astrology. Planets like Sun, Moon etc. are neutral, friendly or inimical to other planets. Check out the table to know friendship and enmity of each planet.

Planet Friend Enemy Neutral
Sun Moon, Mars, Jupiter Saturn, Venus Mercury
Moon Sun, Mercury None Rest of the planets
Mars Sun, Moon, Jupiter Mercury Rest of the planets
Mercury Sun, venus Moon Venus, Saturn
Jupiter Sun, Moon, Mars Venus, Mercury Saturn
Venus Saturn, Mercury Rest of the planets Jupiter, Mercury
Saturn Mercury, Venus Rest of the planets Jupiter
Rahu, Ketu Venus, Saturn Sun, Moon, Mars Jupiter, Mercury

This table is very important and we should also try to memorize it. If this table seems too long, don’t worry. With the time, you will remember everything on your own. Grossly, we can divide planets in two categories that are friendly to each other:

Category 1: Sun, Moon, Mars, Jupiter

Category 2: Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu

It is an easy way to remember the table. However, it is not correct all the time. It would be better if you memorise the table.

What does being friend or enemy mean? If a planet is in its friend’s sign and with friendly planets, it will give positive results. Similarly, if a planet is in its enemy planet’s sign or posited with enemy planet, its positive effects will be reduced.

I hope you enjoyed watching this video. Hope to see you soon again.

Vedic Remedies Evaded My Unbearable Pain: Nitin Data

AstroSage now presents interviews of expert astrologers. Now, you will get to know how and why these experts came into the field of astrology and what inspires them. Let’s begin the interview with vedic astrology and vastu expert ‘Nitin Datta’.

Astrologer Nitin Datta’s Interview

How did you get interested in astrology initially? What made you come into the field of astrology as a profession?

I am a first generation astrologer and I do not have any lineage in the field of astrology. Planets and their movement have always fascinated me. I am a religious minded person and certain real life situations directed me toward the field of astrology.

It is always very agonizing if someone is going through a painful situation and there is no explanation to the cause of the situation. I did face some odd and mentally agonizing situations myself and wanted to understand what was actually wrong. Astrology gave some wonderful answers to my problems and the pain gradually diminished.

I believe that when an individual understands the cause of a problem, then half of the problem is already solved. The rest half is taken care off by attempting certain unique remedies.

What astrological system do you use and why?

I follow the Vedic system of astrology as propounded by Maharishi Parashar. I think that it is the most comprehensive system of astrology and has been narrated in a very simple language. The principles are universal in nature and there is always some scope to customize them according to modern times. The Rajayogas and Vimshottari Mahadasha system are well known concepts among the astrologer’s fraternity and lay a very powerful foundation for any budding astrologer.

Any incident related to astrology in your life or your prediction, which created impact and that you want to share with our readers?

By the time I realized that life was turning troublesome for me, it was late to act and react. Almost everything was slipping out of my hands and there was a sense of helplessness. At the age of 27, it was clear to me that I was under a heavy influence of Sade Sati. It was always under my notice that I was experiencing Sade Sati, but it was merely an idea before I actually entered the field of astrology.

It became easy for me to understand all the events, episode by episode. It was even clear that what could be the probable future events. I was prepared to face all the odd situations and welcomed them all. With a blend of Lal Kitab remedies and Vedic remedies, I was able to evade the unbearable pain caused by the ill effects of Sade sati.

I predicted a series of short term journeys for me and my mother during the year 2010-11. Almost all of them came true. I predicted purchase of a new vehicle by a known person and it turned true. In 2010, I predicted my friend winning a lucky draw and it also turned out true.

There have been many occasions since then which motivated me to move ahead in the field of astrology.

What are your suggestions for budding astrologers or for those who’re interested in this subject?

No one can turn into an astrologer if he/she is not religious. Remember that the science of Astrology is a gift from our great sages and saints who dedicated their lives for this science. Pick up any classical literature on astrology and you’ll find propitiation to the almighty by the author and obeisance to the spiritual master.

You can swallow but not digest astrology, if you are an atheist.

According to you, which are the best astrology books that one should read?

Begin with the books dealing in basic concepts of astrology like, houses/bhavas, delineation of a horoscope, Ayanamsa, Sayana and Nirayana systems and basic principles of interpretation of a horoscope etc. Books written by Dr. Radhakrishna Shrimali are a masterpiece in dealing with the varied concepts of astrology. Acharya Shri S.Ganesh is a leading authority in the field of astrology and his book “Ganesh Hora Shastra” on Bhava Analysis is an excellent book to understand the fundamentals and advanced concepts of astrology.

What would you like to say to the users of AstroSage.com?

Dear users, AstroSage.com is a beacon of hope for understanding and approaching astrology. It has been a privilege for me to be a part of this website. I appreciate and wish all the best to Mr. Punit Pandey for this wonderful creation.

AstroSage 2 Minute Astrology Tutorial: Part 8

Astrologer Punit Pandey has come up with 8th part of ‘2 Minutes Astrology Tutorial’ series. In the previous part, we learned about Signification of houses. Today, we will discuss Exalted & Debilitated Planets. ‘Learn Astrology in 2 Minutes Tutorial’ is available FREE, read further to know more.

Exalted & Debilitated Planets

(If you missed the Part-7 of ‘2 Minutes Astrology Tutorial’, click here: Learn Astrology In 2 Minutes - Part-7)

Hi, welcome to 2 min astrology course. As we have discussed earlier that good and bad results of a planet depend upon various factors. We have also discussed how significations of planet get negatively affected in 6th, 8th and 12th house. Similarly, position of a planet in a zodiac sign is also very important. Usually, any planet gives good results in its own sign, in exalted sign and in a friendly sign. On the other hand, it gives unfavourable results in debilitated sign and inimical sign.

हिन्दी में पढ़ने के लिए यहाँ क्लिक करें…

Check out exalted and debilitated signs for planets in the below mentioned table.

No Planet Exalted Sign Debilitated Sign
1 Sun Aries Libra
2 Moon Taurus Scorpio
3 Mars Capricorn Cancer
4 Mercury Virgo Pisces
5 Jupiter Cancer Capricorn
6 Venus Pisces Virgo
7 Saturn Libra Aries
8 Rahu Sagittarius Gemini
9 Ketu Gemini Sagittarius

There are some interesting points in this table. First, the exalted and the debilitated signs for a planet are seventh from each other, e.g. Sun is exalted in Aries, the first sign of zodiac, and is debilitated in Libra, seventh sign of zodiac. Second, Venus and Mercury have opposite exaltation and debilitation signs. Same is true for Saturn-Sun & Jupiter-Mars. Third, exaltation and debilitation sign for Rahu and Ketu are not that important.

A planet is most powerful in its exalted sign. In its own sign, it has power of second grade. In its friendly sign, it has power of third grade. In neutral sign, it has power of fourth grade. In enemy sign, it has power of fifth grade. In debilitated sign, a planet has the power of sixth grade; i.e. a planet is weakest in it.

While analyzing a birth-chart, you should note down those planets that are in exaltation and in debilitation. The planets posited in exalted signs are able to give their results. If a planet is in debilitated or enemy sign, it becomes weak and cannot give its results. When we say “results”, it means planets’ own significations and the significations of the houses it owns.

I hope you enjoyed this video.

Why Jupiter Is The Planet Of Expansion?

Jupiter, the significator of marriage and childbirth, is also known as the ‘planet of expansion’. Whether it’s the expansion of family, health, wealth, or prosperity, Jupiter is always the reason behind. Want to know how? Read this article to get the answers.

 Jupiter, the planet of expansion

Jupiter is an old and big planet and affects the human life with its expanding nature. Jupiter is the Karak (significator) planet for marriage and childbirth. Let’s see why it is Karak for these events and how it affects such events.

Marriage is an important event in one’s life. Marriage means expansion of family and to perform the rituals of marriage, we need Pandit, Priest or Kaazi. Here, the role of Jupiter is played by all three of them. In Hindu marriages, there is a tradition of applying turmeric (Haldi) on the skin of the bride. This tradition is known as ‘Haath peele karna’ (coloring the hands yellow by turmeric) and here turmeric or yellow color is related to Jupiter.

Childbirth means expansion of family and therefore, Jupiter is Karak for childbirth too. The same applies in terms of education, which is an expansion of knowledge and wisdom. Similarly, if Jupiter is connected with wealth, it will bestow you with financial gain.

If Jupiter is weak in someone’s horoscope then it cause troubles and delays in expansions like: marriage, childbirth, growth in salary, and financial benefits.

From the prospects of health, Jupiter increases the level of fats in our body. For example, if Jupiter is connected to ‘diabetes’ then it will raise the sugar level in the body.

When we say that a particular planet is weak in a horoscope, it doesn’t always means that it is in debilitated state. Positioning of a planet in malefic houses like: 8th, 12th, and 6th are also the factors which make a planet weak. Further, a planet is considered weak, if it is placed in the star of a malefic planet having lordship of 6th, 8th, 12th house or is in weak Shadbal. A debilitated Jupiter in 2nd house having lordship of good houses can give immense wealth, like we can see in charts of Sachin Tendulkar and Aishwarya Rai. I have seen many cases where positioning of Jupiter in 8th house results in delays and hurdles in marriage and children.

Other than Jupiter, analyzing the related houses and their lords is very important before coming to the final decision. If someone is facing problems in marriage or childbirth, they need to check Jupiter with relevant house and its lord.

Before coming on final conclusion, we need to analyze complete chart and perform the suggested remedies.

How Venus Is Related To Your Marriage?

Venus, the planet ruled by the Goddess of beauty and love, is the significator for marriage and life partner. Being the governor of love life, the planet affects all the 12 houses in one or the other way. Read this article to know how Venus rules your married life.

In our horoscope, Venus is the Karak (significator) of married life and life partner. However, if we talk about Venus and Jupiter, a few astrologers as well as the common people have a lot of confusions about both these planets. This is because some of them consider Jupiter for life partner and Venus for marriage. But, I would like to clear that Jupiter is the planet of expansion and therefore, it expands the family. Venus is the Karak (significator) of marital happiness and life partner. Love, emotions, understanding, and sexual pleasures are represented by Venus. Apart from Venus, we need to analyze the 7th house and it’s lord.

Let’s see what Acharya Varahamihira has said about Venus:

दधिकुमुदशशांककांतिभृत स्फुटविकसतकिरणो बृहत्तनु:
सुगतिरविकृतो जयनवितः कृतयुगरूपकरः सीताहृदयः

This means that if Venus is huge, good in speed, unaffected and pure like curd, lotus, and moon then it blesses the native in all ways. Placement of Venus in your horoscope describes your married life and life partner.

If Venus is placed in 1st house, the native is expert in sensual activities. Also, the native is famous and popular among females.

Placement of Venus in 2nd house makes the native eager for physical contact, happiness, wealth, and prosperity. These native have chances of involving in extra-marital affairs.

Venus in 3rd house makes the native obedient to his wife and he likes sensual pleasures.

If Venus is placed in 4th house, it blesses the native with domestic happiness and vehicle.

If any malefic planet is affecting Venus, the native is likely to go for live-in relationship.

If Venus has occupied 5th house, the native becomes over-sexual. The native goes for love marriage, if Venus is not affected by malefic planets.

Venus in 6th house makes the native characterless and he may suffer from sexual diseases.

Venus in 7th house gives good married life and the native is blessed with a good wife. Such natives are likely to get involved in sexual relation before and after marriage.

If Venus has occupied 8th house, it boosts the love relation of the native. However, if Venus is affected, it can give hidden sexual diseases.

Native whose Venus is placed in 9th house is favored by the luck of his wife. But if Venus is afflicted by malefic planets, it affects the married life in a negative way. If Venus is connected with Moon, it makes the native to have relationship with unmarried girls.

If Venus is placed in 10th house, it makes the native over sexual and the native gets benefits from ladies. A strong Venus blesses the native with huge income even with small efforts. However, a weak Venus does exactly the opposite.

Placement of Venus in 11th house blesses the native with property from ladies. He makes relationship with many ladies and chances of marrying twice are also there.

Venus in 12th house makes the native highly sexual and he spends on pleasures. Also, the native is interested in arts and music.

The results of Venus given above are as per general standards. Other aspects of sign and planets can change or modify these results. For any specific prediction, we need to analyze the complete horoscope with other aspects of Venus.
